January 2012

Presidents Message

Dear members,

It appears we’ve made it through another holiday season’s hustle and bustle in one piece. I hope 2012 will be a good year for you and your family.

I want to give a big thank you to the Christmas Luncheon Committee members and all who supported the December 7th Luncheon with their attendance, donations, and support selling raffle tickets. It was a wonderful day with good food, beautiful table decorations, some live Christmas music, silent and live auctions, and raffle drawings. Sheryl Howard was the chair of this event, along with Debbie Freed, Mary Sue Douville, Dolores Vinas, and Dee Elliott. Thank you to everyone involved. The women in our Community who benefit from our scholarships will reap the benefits of your kindness and generosity for the rest of their lives. One of our best investments we can make, don’t you agree? The treasurer will have a final profit report ready for us at the February General Meeting.

As we look ahead to the remainder of our fiscal year that ends April 30, 2012 we’ll be planning our 40th anniversary celebration in March. Dolores Vinas will be chairing this event. If you are interested in working with Dolores on the Anniversary Committee, please let her know. In February we will elect a nominating Committee to determine a slate of officers for 2012-13 terms, with the election taking place March, April and installations in May. Please consider serving in a leadership role if you are asked. And if you are interested in a particular position, feel free to share it with me or other Board members. We need your involvement and support to carry us to new heights.

Thanks again for all you do to help the Women’s Chamber’s efforts to enhance our community through charitable, civic, and environmental projects and programs.

Blessings  Beverly Bond
