Kerr County Women's Chamber, Inc. Newsletter
August 2010

Dear Members:

We had another successful Military Appreciation Luncheon – a big thank you to all who

participated. Both Vicki Roark and Debbie Barron outdid themselves on the organization of

this very special event. Thank you to all who sponsored a veteran and donated to the Wounded

Warrior Project.

Our August meeting agenda will include a membership vote on our 2010-2011 budget so I am

hoping we will have a good turnout. Please remember to renew your membership so that we

can include everyone in our new yearbook. The yearbook ad campaign continues through the

month of August.

The Annual Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet and Awards Dinner will be held on

September 2, 2010. Please let me know if you are interested in attending (KCWC will have a

 table at the event).

As always, your support and consideration are greatly appreciated. Looking forward to seeing

 everyone in August.

Until next Month,

Dolores

What you missed at the
July Military Appriciation Luncheon

Our Speaker for the July General Meeting was Matt Roever, son of Dave Roever who operates the Wounded Warrior program under the umbrella of the Roever Evangelistic Association.

Matt described the Current Eagles Summit Ranch operation in West Cliff Colorado along with slide

show. He then introduced the new Project, Texas Eagle Summit Ranch, which is under way here

in the Hill Country. Land has been purchased near Junction in Kimble County. Drawings of the

buildings have been completed and support from Churches and individual donations is on

going and they hope to reach their goal soon.

No Government funds are being used to fund the construction of the ranch.

The Program takes the wounded soldier out of the typical environment to help them be able to

come back into society and back into resorting their marriages and family life again through

therapy at the Eagles Summit Ranch facilities.

Matt Rover with Servicemen

Collection baskets were sent around the room and  $1745 was collected and presented to Matt

Roever for the Texas Eagle Summit Ranch.

Del Way, Pastor of Cavalry Temple Church, sang a moving song written shortly after

the 9-11 tragic World Trade Center Attack.

A plaque from KCWC was presented to the family members of the Marine, Jacob C. Leicht who was the 1,000th

fallen soldier in Afghanistan
